Director of Project Management

Summary

The Director of Project Management is responsible for overseeing the Fruition Development and Design teams. This position will be responsible for managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while at the same time achieving high quality deliverables that provide exceptional business values to clients. We are looking for a project manager who has a proven track record of successful execution and management of tough projects, as well as strong interpersonal skills.  This role will lead and orchestrate projects from initiation through delivery and communication with both the internal teams and our clients.

Responsibilities/Requirements

  • Must have a history of successfully executing multiple projects from conception to completion
  • Must have evidence of managing multi-disciplined teams, conflict resolution, resource constraints and collaboration
  • Builds strong relationships throughout the company
  • Collaborates with team to identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
  • Reviews/assists proposals efforts including project scoping, level of effort assessments and project plan development
  • Gathers project business, marketing and technical requirements in order to develop projects estimates and SOWs
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Communicate weekly updates to clients
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope to ensure project progresses are on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Drives teams to execute on tasks and deliverables
  • Tracks and reports team hours and project expenses
  • Project accounting and financial management responsibilities
  • Facilitates change logs and change orders to allocate budget when applicable
  • Gains an understanding of our pricing model and billing procedures in order to manage project finances efficiently
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk on projects
  • Facilitates problem solving to resolve issues in timely manner
  • Drives improvement by regulating post-mortem project reviews to identify areas of growth
  • Ability to adapt in a growing, fast-paced organization

Communication Skills

  • Must possess the communication and personal skills required to resolve ambiguous and conflicting requirements
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients to ensure that project scopes and requirements are clearly defined and executable
  • Holds regular status meetings with project teams
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to management
  • Delivers engaging, informative and well-organized presentations
  • Keeps project team well informed of project changes, changes within the organization and general corporate news that affects our daily operations
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully

 

Technical Understanding

  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of website design web development, application programming, database and system design
  • Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and general client/server architecture
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of the team’s capabilities
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and industry best practices to potentially be applied on business partner engagements
  • Understands at a high level the abilities and limitations of industry standard technologies, hardware and software packages
