Technical Project Manager

Summary

Fruition is hiring full-time technical project manager to work out of our Denver Office. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented and have previous agency experience managing multiple website development projects from conception to completion. Core responsibilities include coordinating internal resources and contractors for the seamless execution of projects, and providing leadership in ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. The technical project manager must exhibit excellent communication skills to provide accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders, and must be adept at managing dueling priorities, and stringent deadlines. We are looking for a strategic thinker who utilizes efficient and effective practices to maintain timelines, coordinate internal and external communication, and manage resource workload. Must possess a combined knowledge of business, management, budgeting, analysis or like experience.

Additional responsibilities may include working on pre-contract sales agreements to build out estimates for new projects, analyzing new and existing work to continuously improve existing process, and developing new processes as needed, and investigating technical and operational systems to develop new process and procedures to drive departmental and company-wide efficiencies.

Position Requirements and Responsibilities
  • Develop and utilize project plans to track progress, communicate weekly updates to clients
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and budget
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform regular risk management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and third party vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Must have strong communication skills, be successful in leading and motivating employees and have strong attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate ability to think through problems to a logical conclusion
  • Must possess ability to communicate problems accurately to co-workers, managers and vendors
  • Must be able to work on and resolve problems without constant support and guidance from supervisors
  • Collaborate with other members of project management team and staff to ensure the operation of systems and vehicles
  • Report and escalate project challenges to management as needed
  • Assists with proposal efforts including project scoping, level of effort assessments and project plan development
  • Identifies business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project or brand
  • Gathers project business, marketing and technical requirements in order to develop project estimates and SOWs; familiarity with contract and agreement processes
  • Creates and executes project plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Responsible for logging accurate time against projects in a timely manner
  • Tracks and reports team hours and project expenses
  • Communicates actual vs. estimated hours to leadership team
  • Monitors and manages project budget
  • Facilitates change logs and change orders to allocate additional budget when applicable
  • Gains an understanding of our pricing model and billing procedures in order to manage project finances efficiently
Required Skills and Education
  • Proven work experience as a project manager in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • 3-5 years of technical project management experience, preferably with complex website development projects
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and JIRA
  • Knowledge of PHP, Beanstalk, Bitbucket, Git is a plus
  • Knowledge of Drupal and WordPress platforms a plus
  • Experience managing offshore and contractor relationships a plus
  • BS, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering
  • PMP certification a plus
