For busy Magento sites the log files bloat the database in a matter of minutes. The largest Magento logs are typically log_url_info, log_visitor_info, and log_url. This posts will walk you through how to minimize your Magento logs to keep your database size reasonable while not loosing an unnecessary amount of information.

Set your Magento Crons to Reduce the Database Size

Option 1. Clear the Magento Dabase Logs – The first option is to set the Magento crons to run frequently to clear these tables out.

Use Amazon RDS for Your Magento Logs

Option 2. Edit Magento to use Amazon RDS.
