Writing Optimized Content for Blog Marketing

A blog is one of the most underrated tools you can implement for your search engine marketing campaign. Writing search-engine optimized posts is crucial if you are looking to get your content ranking well in the search-engine result pages. It’s a great way to consistently add keyword optimized and fresh content to your website and keep those search engine spiders coming back for more.

The first thing you must do is begin some keyword research to identify what users are searching for by using the proper tools. My personal favorite is the Yahoo Search Suggestion tool. Using a keyword research tool allows you to properly target keywords that you’ll want to rank for by implementing them within your blog title, headlines, and throughout the post’s content.

For example, for a post about a specific topic, you should perform keyword research around that broad topic and then select five to ten keywords that you will include throughout the body of the post. All your keywords should be related to the general topic of your post. The overall topic of your post should be included within your title tag along with any other tags. For instance, if your post is about search engine marketing, the title, metatags and any subtitles better reflect just that.

When linking to a specific blog post from other posts within your site, try to use keyword rich anchor text if you can. For example, if you just created a new post about the best types of blogging advice, you may want to link back to a previous post using the anchor text of “blog marketing”.

In general, you should try to selectively use bold or italic type to note target keywords from the rest of the text. Keep in mind, however, that your post should ultimately be seen as a natural means of communicating valuable information to your readers. Do not just simply stuff keywords where they don’t belong. Write keyword rich content which is based on and around your most important keywords.
