The Popularity of Android Tablets

I’m sure that a lot of people have heard about this huge incoming subject of tablets and how the iPad is the leader of this industry. The only thing for sure is that it’s a new market that has a lot yet to offer.

Apple, Inc is the one that made the new concept of tablets. Their iPad rules this emerging market today because it’s considered as the top tablet in the world. While the tablet’s market is growing at an unbelievable pace, new competitors are trying to make devices (tablets) that are better and smarter and provide more options than Apple’s iPad.

As one of the toughest competitors of the iPad, Android tablets are becoming very powerful and popular. As many people say that they won’t outcome the Apple iPad, others emphasize that eventually Android tablets will become more popular and powerful than the industry leader, iPad.

As statistics show, Apple has sold more than 3 million iPads in the first 3 months of its release and they are expecting about 20 million more sales in 2011. Other tablet manufacturers are invading the market and developing new tablets in order to sell more and establish a solid base reputation. Many well-known companies like Samsung, Dell, LG, and Cisco are unveiling their plans for tablets and almost all of them are choosing Android.

Many experts in the tablets field are anticipating that the coming Android tablets will have more to offer than iPad. New competitors are developing new features that the iPad doesn’t have and trying to take them to their full advantage in order to overtake Apple and beat them at their own game.

Now many Android tablets are available; they are stronger and more powerful then before. Two of the best of them are the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Advent Vega. These devices are considered very powerful and smart tablets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is thought to have features that iPad doesn’t have. The only main disadvantage is their application support; this is because the Android platform was initially developed for smartphones.

Now Google is almost ready to release their own tablet. It’s thought to become the main Android challenger of iPad. Knowing that Android is an open source platform, experts guess that it will be more open device in terms of customization – unlike the Apple iPad because with Android, users can configure it to their liking. Whether Android tablets will become the most popular or not is still to be determined. However, the benefit will be always for the user, because the tougher the competition, the more powerful devices we get!
