Google is now giving its new hires the option of using an Apple Mac or a LINUX based PC but not a Windows based machine. Google is stating the decision is directly the result of the major security breach earlier this year. Yet, it’s convenient that Google’s upcoming Chrome OS (not to be confused with Chrome the browser) is due out soon. I suspect Google doesn’t see Apple as a real competitor in the OS arena because Macs are a pain to use for any real business (no offense designers and media gurus). Google Chrome OS is going to be directly tied in with the Google Docs and going after the average business user not a bunch of hipsters riding fixies. Good for Google.
